That’s all it takes. We writers are a sensitive lot. We try to be all tough and act like a lack of response or criticism doesn’t bother us when all the while we are a turbulent mess inside.
We agonize over every nuance of every comment or lack of comment.
Maybe it’s a self-esteem thing or maybe it’s just because we are laying little bit if our soul bare for people to judge.
It is a hard thing to do. It takes courage and a little bit of crazy.
We try and try always waiting for someone to find us. That right time or right place where all of our hard work and purposeful meandering through the jungle of cyber promotion actually will pay off.
Than finally an accident of timing allows us a moment of peace. A tiny comment that shows us that a reader has connected with our characters. Even if it is only one reader, it’s HUGE! Suddenly one little comments and we are flying higher than the clouds. One tiny bit of encouragement and we are ready to forge ahead with a new venture. We know we’ll be successful! Just look at what that one person who read our work said!
Those tiny grains of encouragement are all we need.
